Translations
[edit]Hi! Congratulations on becoming a translation administrator!
Re: marking the P&G drafts I wrote for translation, thanks for that as well. On other projects (like meta and WF) drafts generally are not marked for translation. Did you consider them to be a special case of drafts, or do you believe drafts generally should be marked for translation? I'm not trying to rhetorically criticize you or anything with this question (I've tried and failed to reword it to not come off as such), I'm genuinely curious.

- I do remember very well that drafts should generally not be marked for translation but I think I'm used to seeing a big box saying such at the top of a page whenever that's the case. I should have seen the hatnote and reasoned that it was too early to mark it, but I had a lapse of judgement and did so otherwise. I'm not sure if I can undo, or if I should? What a bad first impression for my first day on the job. I apologize. — rae5e <talk> 04:39, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
- So, I removed it from translation. For the sake of brevity I will keep the translation markup out of the article until it is finalized. Doing so avoids shoving a big scary banner about editing translation source text in editors' faces as well. The old pages lay dormant at Category:Abstract Wikipedia administration/en, FuzzyBot will come and repopulate them once the policy pages are finalized. Thank you as always for your work. — rae5e <talk> 04:42, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, and it's ok! I don't have any opinion on the matter, so I don't care, I had just wanted to know if this was meant to be precedent setting. Thanks, Feeglgeef (talk) 14:41, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
